Post FYI: Part numbers for 3 spoke steering wheel swap

Just in case anyone needs this going forward here are the part numbers I've found for swapping in a RX steering wheel. I'm 99% sure it applies to other 3 spokes of the same generation but I'm doing a 03 RX300 wood wheel. If you get one that is missing these pieces they're reasonably priced, a couple bucks total.

the big cover where the volume controls go on the left side
45187-48010-C0 left cover black (not stocked in US apparently but Curt at elmhurst ordered from Japan no problem still 4 bucks)

The small round cover on the right side that covers the airbag screw
45186-44010-C0 right cover black

Screws that hold the airbag in, need qty 2 total
90148-60007 airbag screw (new# 9008014042)

Adapter that nobody can seem to find so you dont have to splice or cut or anything
call 1-800-933-8335 option 1, 1 give them part number 09082-00760 airbag subharness (price right now is $14.44 plus shipping)

Should be. 03 was the last year of single stage in the RX.

OK so got my wheel, all my little parts and got her swapped in. SO much better. I love the feel of the wood vs the leather plus it looks great. Going to plasti dip the chrome logo black because I hate it, it doesn't go with anything and the finish is a little damaged. Went in without any issues at all.

Pop the two trim covers off old wheel, unscrew the 4 screws holding in the pillow bag, Torx 30.
pull airbag off, unclip harness. unclip cruise harness
loosen but do not remove the 19mm nut
yank yank yank, wheel comes loose, remove nut, remove wheel.
place new wheel on splines. there are alignment tabs, can't really screw it up
reinstall nut, connect up harness (need to test my cruise, i dont plan to retain it when i go NA-T so i didnt swap it over)
install sub harness adapter
put airbag in place (be mindful of where you put the adapter and plugs to not bind with horn operation)
install two screws to hold bag in place.
enjoy.

^ Looks great! Just like mine but in black!
Never understood why Lexus never used these in SC's from the factory.

Thanks! I agree, they're so much sportier and still more luxurious than the 4 spokers.

You can swap the cruise lever from your old wheel to be sure but ill test cruise next time I go for a ride. Wheels are plentiful on eBay for decent price. I paid 120ish for mine and like 80 for the airbag. ES wheels look the same but don't have the bumps at 10 and 2 and can be had even cheaper. The celica, rav4, is3 bags are usually cheap too but I didn't want a toyota logo and don't like the IS bag.

Ended up running an errand in the car so I tested cruise. No dice. If you want to retain cruise with this swap should be able to just swap the stalks between wheels.

Yup the cruise from your old wheel will bolt on there, I have done it on mine and my cruise and everything works. Fantastic mod really one of the best you can do.

I couldn't agree more, it makes the driving experience so much better. Between it and the brake upgrade I found myself driving rather aggressively. I'm going to be a terror on boost. LOL

Same, a simple swap of the cruise control level and everything works on mine as factory

On a side note, I'm excited about a purchase I'm hoping to make on Friday. I'm so gitty I can barely contain myself, LOL. No spoilers though, but I'll be sure to keep you guys posted..
