Default New to the SC forums. 2000 sc300

Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself to the SC forum after picking up a 2000 sc300 on Tuesday. I've been a long time lurker on the SC forums but I am not new to the Lexus scene as I have owned a 2000 es300 for nearly 4 years now. I've been looking for a 2000 SC for over 3 years now and finally found one with fairly low miles in a good color combo at a decent price. Anyways about the car:

2000 sc300 onyx black exterior with black interior, 143k miles. Bought the car on eBay out of Cleveland Ohio and drove it home 760 miles to Minnesota. The interior of the car is very nice with very minimal cracking on the drivers seat and the passenger and rear seats are in mint condition. Almost everything works properly with the exception of a few burnt out accessory lights, drivers heated seat, and the dome light/sunroof controls are a little funky. Exterior is pretty decent, small dent on the passenger fender as well as some scratches and a little rust on the roof and behind the drivers door. Car is overall in pretty good shape and I spent 7 hours Friday washing, clay bar, polishing, and then waxing the car twice to bring the paint back to life. Made a huge difference already and will get the same treatment again soon. I plan to fix all the little issues with the car, get the paint/rust issues fixed, wheels, stereo, wrap the wood grain interior, full LED lights, LS400 bbk, coils, wheels, exhaust, hids, and various other mods over the next year. So far I absolutely love the car and am thrilled with my purchase, quirks and all. I hope to stay pretty active on this forum and share any experiences, advice, diy's, and mods I have as well as ask you guys for help!

-Tanner

Glad you got the car, even happier it did 760 miles without a problem for you. Lexol that leather, and soften it up a bit to prevent any further cracking. Looks like a good buy..

Nice pick up there buddy, my favorite year/color combo. You can try the fix a dent procedure to see if you can fix the damage on the fender. Good luck with your build and enjoy your SC.

Appreciate all the positive feedback I think I made it home after the snow storm actually as the roads in Ohio and Indiana were less than ideal.. especially from 10pm-3am with poor tires. But nonetheless I made it home without incident and the car drove strong and smooth. So far I am very pleased and have a blast driving the car. It is a great starting platform and I can't wait to transform it into my own idea of perfect. In regards to leather, I actually took the back seats and all panels out on thursday and thoroughly cleaned and conditioned all panels using Lexol. They cleaned up great and look amazing. I am thrilled with the interior. I also recovered the speaker grilles while I had them out of the car. It came out great and I plan to recover the door speaker grilles and tweeter grilles as well.

Left is recovered, right is original.

Damn you don't waste any time haha, be careful though taking off those panels and putting them back on. I wouldn't remove the door panels at all unless you have audio plans ready to go. Do it once and be done with it, the door panels break easy.
