I recently purchased a '92 SC 300 and the clutch pedal seems unusually hard to press. Is this normal?

my clutch is firm too. Something which I did not expect. It feels solid which I like. I think it is normal, but it may have been replaced with an aftermarket clutch which may also be the cause of the stiffer clutch feel.
