SC400 shift lights only come on when I hold the shifter? ARGH.
So I have a 93 SC400. It drives GREAT. But -
I ONLY have a PARK light that works. I can shift into Reverse, Neutral, Drive, and the light for that gear flickers and goes out. I found that if I put a little forward pressure on it, the light comes on for R/N/D, both on the console and the dash - otherwise it's out - something appears to be out of alignment or something.
Is this a linkage issue (it seems to be tight), a bad range selector switch, or ? Is it adjustable?
It's frustrating, and I noticed I can actually get reverse to slip into neutral at times unless I hold the shifter. HELP! I can't find this particular issue anywhere after an hour searching.
Thanks!

Quick update - I just tried to adjust the shifter, that didn't help. It's where the selector enters the trans - I put a little pressure on it, the lights work fine for R/N/D. But when it clicks where it belongs, no dice. Must be some kind of switch or something out of what here?

AAAAAND one more guess - Park/Neutral Position switch. From LExtreme site schematic for the SC, looks like that switch controls lights for dash and console. Is this replace only or could it be re-aligned somehow? Going to see if I can find this thing on the transmission next.

Apparently, I'm my own best friend in this forum. Fixed it - adjusted the Park Neutral switch about 1/16" by loosening the main bolt holding it on, and all is well. When it shifted out of place, it caused lights to not work for R/N/D/2 on console and dash, plus caused slippage in reverse. Car is perfect again, in case anyone hits this issue.
