Melted Positive terminal
Hey guys, so the past few weeks when i get in the car every once in a while there will be no power to anything. When i go by the battery and move the cable going to the fuse box it all kicks back on.
Now i open the fuse box and the positive terminal that hooks into it has literally melted the plastic around it. gonna try and get a pic but what would cause the positive to get so hot it would melt? |
I say a bad ground somewhere or something is staying on for way to long, creating a hot terminal.

So i noticed somehow the positive worked itself loose, is that the cause of the melting? or a result?? Im thinking maybe the positive never had good connection and was just bouncing back and forth under the screw.
tightened it up and hopefully no more issue, just weird it was even loose |
yes any gap in the conductive surfaces will create arcing when it moves, and it will melt it and whatever happens to be around it. make sure its tight for good this time, it is odd it even came loose unless it was removed at some point.
