Default New SC400 Owner needing help with wheels.

Hi, I just picked up a 1999 SC400 last week and I'm looking for new wheels for it. I'm looking for a 17" wheel that has close to a stock Lexus look. My car already has 17" chrome GS350 wheels, but they are pitting really bad and I just found they have some bad spots in them.

So my question is if I run a wheel that is only 17x7, it's going to remain pretty sunk in looking. Correct? I'm assuming spacers to fix.

Also on the offset, does it matter where it falls at in between 35-45mm?

I'm looking at wheels through OE Wheel company

Thanks

I don't think you are really going to get a flush look with a 17x7 regardless of offset. I would got with a 17x8.5 or 17x9 at least. at least a + 35 offset. check the wheel and fitment thread for ideas. Good luck

Yeah... I wish they made a 17x8 in some of those OE designs.

Also does anyone have any issues with( TPMS) in the aftermarket wheels? Thanks Again

Find some Supra TT wheels and your done, they sit pretty good, are wider and look awesome.

Might need spacers in front if you want that flush look and dont care about the studs possibly breaking.

Is their certain years I should look for? Also do the spacers make the studs weak then? Thanks

Any 93.5 to 98 will be fine. Make sure they are twin turbo and not na-t. The na-t are 16 inches, I am unsure of the offest and width of them. The tt are the ones you want. The spacers will increase the chance of the studs breaking in half. I have had 3 on one rear wheel break off. I removed mine in the rear and put the factory studs back in. I am also using G35 19's all the way around. They are the Rays forged aluminum ones. Good luck on your wheel choice.

Read this if seriously considering TT wheels that way you can make an informed decision about them.

Can't really beat the TT wheels as far as some nice stockish 17 inch wheels.

i would just get the wheels redone either in chrome or a different color...if you look for chrome tt wheels you wont spend less than 800$ on them plus you will have to buy center caps if you dont want toyota symbols on them plus buying spacers... if you already have a set work on those just my opinion good luck.

I have been looking for a clean set of chrome tt for over 2 years. Had the chance from Quick at one time but didn't have the funds. It was bad timing. I am still looking now. All the ones I find are in terrible shape. Many scratches and dents. Why does everyone not take care of their rims, I dont understand?

Lol same here waited awhile before I found mine they are not perfect shape either scuff here and there and chrome peeling a lil on one wheel not to noticeable only if you get up and close but i jumped on them since they are hard to come by and i wanted the chrome. Probably the best stock wheels I have owned staggered, 17in, 5 spoke with bigger tires and pretty light weight
