Default Possible major setback SC300 / Wife

Ok some of you may have seen my earlier post where I bought a 92 sc300 factory 5spd for 1k and plan on fixing it up for my 14yr old son over the next couple of years. I mistakenly thought I would be driving it for fun over the next two years. That plan came to a screeching halt today.

I asked my wife to move the SC so I could back my trailer up. You ever had one of those moments where you think man what was I thinking this is definitely one of them.. The wife moved the car drove it down the street came back and got out and told me she missed her 5spd and that she really liked this car and I needed to have it fixed before she starts back to school in a few weeks so that she could drive it back and forth to work.

Yep im a dumbass. Now ive got to figure out a way to discourage this and still stay married!!!

Yep, you messed up bud. LOL You may be forced to spend some more money on another manual 5 spd SC. I'm sending you a pm...look it over, you may be able to work on the price?

Till this day my wife has never driven my SC since the motor and tranny swap. The misleading of telling her the clutch is too stiff for her has still worked. !!!!!

I guess I'm the only one who actually likes when my girlfriend (we might as well be married) drives my car. Haha

I agree with you, Korito. And my gf knows how to drive my car expertly, having owned mostly sporty manual cars herself. She knows exactly what she's doing with it but she also rarely drives it.

OP, I read that you already have several cars but it sounds like you and your wife both need SC 5-speeds, assuming she really likes THAT car as much as you say and not just any manual sporty car. You should tell her that you wanted to enjoy it too. Second to acquiring another SC 5-speed, you could say that swapping a manual into the SC400 will be necessary if she's interested in the manual car

Just because she wants to drive it does not mean you can't still give it to your son when he turns 16.

You two are married...share the car. Simple.

My GF refuses to drive the GS sometimes even take the car when we go out. I made sure of that by slamming it sticking 16k spring rates on there, and putting a loud exhaust on it

What a coincidence!! I bought my 92 SC400 for my 14yr old son since the Automotive instructor announced retirement a week before his school started last school year. Well, to stay on topic... I'd say let the wife have that SC and the opportunity just came to buy another project SC. Does more the merrier apply here?
