Check the steering rack bushings. At that mileage though, I'd expect them to be completely shot and causing delay in steering plus the thud sound you hear. Another thing you wanna check is the control arm ball joints.

There's plenty of info around if you search. You can also see it in my thread. But I think Daizen has gone out of business already since 2010. Might wanna order it somewhere else.

Ok i.checked the bushing is good and new from what i seen.. the thud noise clunking is from.my bushing of my front lower control arm.. now.. should i buy the whole new arm...since the arm.been in use since 94 and now 2013 that 19 years . I serious dont want to replaxe the arm bushing and find out to know thr ball joint are bad.. u cant rrplace the ball joint form the control arm csuse is integrste into the arms.

control arm bushings are able to be bought from TM Engineering, I bought my Daizen bushings from them and i got it within a week. Check to make sure its your control arm bushing and not your ball joint, If it does happen to be your ball joint your arm will need replacing and then the new control arm bushings you just installed will go to waste unless were able to get em out without damaging it. I havent looked into the control arm bushings yet, mine are still good, my thud going forward and reverse is my drivers side ball joint so ill be paying a visit to my local wrecking yard soon.

To be honest i would hust want to get a whole new arm an then buy the bushing for it and install it at once.. cause i hate it .. well i jack the car up and wiggke the wheels and it seem like it not the ball joint because it doesnt have any play innit.. or i will buy anused arm and make sure checm the bakk joint

if you can afford new supra Lower control arms that's the way to go, they are also less expensive than the lexus ones and will improve the handling some and you don't have to worry about your balljoints later on. I replaced the control arm bushings it was a lot of work to get those bushings out, If I could go back in time I would have just got new arms and replaced them it would have literally taken half the time and a quarter the effort. those bushings are horrible it took 2 of us to get those things out with torches and various tools and then the cleaning, and burning rubber smells horrible.. all that and still an old balljoint.. but it did solve my problem and the balljoint still seems to be good but be prepared to get messy.
