Default Tire Stretch Guru's Please take a look(255/35 on a 13in)Having Trouble

Hey guys,

im cancelling work for the rest of the week or until I get this resolved.

for the few that have been helping me in my other thread I decided to not attempt the 245/35 on my 13's and I purchased two 255/35's and im still running into some serious trouble.

The tire shop that tried to install them could not get the stretch good enough to make any beads on either side. He was afraid to put the pressure higher then 8psi and it would not get over the hump.

I am going to try a few more tire shops tomorrow but if they cant help me I will be going with the butane method.

My question would be does this even look possible to you guys? Or is it too extreme?

Does anyone have any advice on how to get these on? Anyone ever try the butane method? Is there a certain type of tire machine that is able to do this? I heard of "cheetah" in my other thread.

I also was told that truck tire shops are more qualified for this kind of thing?

Basically any help would be appreciated as im quite bummed out over this,,and very tired as well, these wheels have been giving me trouble at every turn.

Thank you,

*****

Yeah the only way if see that mounting is with dual bead boozkas, if it would even work. It also depends on the tire itself.

I had the same issue on my S13 where the guys mounting the tires were horrified when I told them what I wanted and they tried to mount them. The guy expressed deep concerns about how difficult it was to get them to seat.

took a $50 loss on the returned tires, had to argue quite a bit to even get that, I guess it was somewhat reasonable considering one of them had already been mounted and stretched to hell.

Ordered some really cheap 275/35/20 nankangs, ran them before had a lot of issues with them, but they are like half the price of the other brands so im gonna give them a try again.

The Nankangs should do you right... they stretch really well. I actually really like mine. Just make sure it is the NS II model, I heard their other models are garbage.

just got the nankangs and they look much better then the ones I was buying 2 years ago, I think nankang has stepped up in their quality a bit, they are very meaty and solid, tons of tread, the old ones I had were thin little things that just looked and felt cheap.

At 275 it looks like im still gonna be running a very aggressive stretch , but im sure this time I can pull it off

oh yea and they are nankang NS 2 model

oh and I finally have got myself a proper camera lol ,,,its about time
