Default ECU died!!!!

Bad luck, but my '92 SC300 main ECU "died" and stopped sending signals to the fuel pump ECU so no vrrrooommm....

These are not just lying on shelves so it took a few days to locate one and at that (the one my repair shop found) it is a used part with a very brief 30 day warranty.

In searching for sources, found a place in Texas, "Foreign Auto Computer Repair, Inc." that appears to have a good offer to repair/rebuild an ECU. They offer an 18 month warranty. Their web site is "foreignecurepair" and they are in Holly Lake Ranch, Tx (due east of Dallas).

Anybody have any experience with this vendor? I am likely going to send them my bad ECU so as to have a spare since this part is difficult to come by....

Thanks....

There have been several new ecu vendors pop up here lately. I am sure they do quality work with that kind of electronic warranty. Good luck in your decision.

Duck05: Did you wind up using Foreign Auto Computer Repair? What was your experience? Thanks

No; I found other vendors that had better reviews and testimonials. The shop that caused the ECU to fail took over a week to get a rebuilt replacement but I sent the failed unit out to Darryl Geller for a "spare".

Of late, Tanin is highly recommend for ECU repairs.

Either one are great choices......
