$1,425 quoted for a rear window???
When I pulled the tarp off my 94 SC400 this weekend to start the project of getting it restored for my soon to be 16yr old son I discovered about 10 holes in the rear glass. Ive got 4 kids and I imagine though know one will take credit that them and a couple of buddies were having fun with golf clubs / sticks etc. Anyways I called safelite for a quote and almost drove off the road when the lady told me it was not problem they could do it for $1,425. I had her repeat it twice just to make sure I heard her right.

lol just another rip off shop, cant trust mechanics or body shops ever.
Best bet is to find a junkyard that has an sc and get the glass from them, i dont imagine a glass removal install to be very difficult although its probably quite labour intensive.
Ive never done one but ive seen my granfather do it on his cars, so it cant be that hard.

Sounds more like rapelite..... but hey.... they send you a picture of the technician that's coming to do the repairs.... that's gotta be worth $750-$895 alone..........

I just had to have mine replaced. Luckily Kentucky is a no fault zero deductible on glass . The glass shops couldn't get one they had to get from dealer 1300.00
I bought one for my wife's old 92 sc400 from the junkyard years ago n paid some guys 50 to tske out
Cost 100 Good luck.

Their asking price is double what I paid for my SC400. Later on I'll probably be willing to pay $300 for a new front windshield though because mine is horribly scratched from a previous owner's lack of wiper blade maintenance and pitted by what I must assume to have been sand, even though the car never left central GA since new.
