that 2000 actually looks like it would be less work to fix, just a fender and door replacement pretty much..

Should never rush into purchasing a new/used car, especially one with damage/salvaged title.

I just looked at the south FL craigslist out of curiosity, and found 4 MINT SC's. 2 are 97's with under 180K. One is a SC300 for $5k, and the other is a SC400 for $5.5k.

And a 99 SC400 black interior with 99k miles for $7k....

And a 98 ONE OWNER, with 140k miles with fresh maintinance (timing belt, wp, brakes, tires, etc.) for $5.4k

I found those in about 4 minutes, so dont tell me there isnt anything in south FL that isnt any better. Save yourself the hassle bro, and put the money into something worth while. We're all trying to help you out and you keep running back to trashed cars from an auction that need repairs..If I could post the links I would, instead Im going to PM those 4 to you in an attempt to get you in a better direction.

Even better than craigslist, support our members here in selling theirs:

sorry to say it buddy but i really think you need to sit down and rethink this multiple times. theres about 20 people right here telling you not to do it and that its a poor decision.. clearly something isnt right. the south is always cheaper for cars compared to up here in the northeast. that is just absolutely ridiculous to pay 5k for a crashed, salvage titled car that is prob going to be covered with bondo all over. if that were up here it would be worth about 1200 absolute max.

for instance. youd be better off spending the extra money or saving and just getting something gorgeous like this.
http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/3637034091.html

if your spending money like that on something that someone else has smashed your better off saving up a bit more and looking elsewhere if its something you really want. i cant believe some of the **** i see on this forum already and im just finally getting involved with sc's lol

why would it be covered in bondo if someone fixes it right? its salvaged because it was just in an accident before it was sold to the auction

hey man the only way this car is worth buying is if your buying it yourself from the auction for dirt cheap, like $1500 or less, then simply buy a fender , door and install them yourself, then your only problem is the QP.

Dont spend 5 grand on that car man, its a very bad move.

That shop is making a TON of money off of you I bet. Bet they buy it for about $600, and then you'll be buying it with a cheap paintjob and bondo for $5000... NOT a good deal. Also a big thing to consider is RESALE value. How much are you gonna get for a salvaged vehicle vs. clean title? Be rational. Look in the Lexus classifieds here on the forums and just compare what you could get... Go on Ebay... Look around... Consider the options. I almost have a feeling that you might have put a deposit down, and now you might feel stuck or something. I dunno- but it's not a good deal w/ that mileage and salvage title. Either way good luck with the decision- no pressure

here's an example I just pulled randomly off CL Vehicles classifieds: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...an-tittle.html

Perhaps we are missing something, is someone getting it for you and insisting it come from that auction?
If so I get it, but i'd examine the 2000 personally. Its a more desirable car at first glance.

@ Turbodreamz-Only 400's im looking for and i seen all of those already, the white 98 guy wants cash only and just raised his price from 5,000 to 5,400 -_-, the 99 i called them and they want 3,000 down due to my credit .
I did put a deposit to get the car, The main reason i went this way because i'm limited on cash and Kevin(auction guy) said he can get me a good deal, and after talking to him yesterday, he told me we can do 3,000 for final price.

theres your problem.

i learned the hard way a couple of years back that rushing when purchasing cars is not/never a good idea.

Waited a year for my current car to come up and never regretted it since.

no offense but man you really aren't listening. you ask what we thought of the molding on the car then we gave advice on not buying it and you are going to anyway? there is a reason this site is here and using it for what it is intended for is failing you. good luck on your choice and I hope the car works out for you, I really do.

Do you have access to the cars? Can you bring a mechanic by? Can you drive it? At that price you surely want to rule out any BIG repairs pending. That would be really sad and anticlimactic.
These auction guys are financing it as well?
