Gold headlight housings!?!?

What!! Who does this? Cleaning my headlights because I thought that maybe the inside chrome plating was yellowing, but when I opened them, the housing was painted gold:rolleyes:
I was really hoping to shine up to chrome, but looks like I'll have to go black. I'll have finished pics later;) |
Wow that is really ugly, apparently people like having their headlights yellowed?
Yeah at this point it would be a lot easier going black, plus it looks better than chrome :D |
|
I agree, it looks terrible. Just paint them black or metallic silver.
|
Let me guess, the badges are gold?
Auto part stores sell chrome paint. When you spray it and let it dry, it's kind of hazy. Just take some polish to it and you have full on mirror.... or use silver metallic paint :) |
At least the paint job looks decent lol
|
Whoa! That's weird! It's an interesting look.
|
Wow what the heck
PEEEE lights:D |

Okay, housings are now flat black, projection glass, inner plastics polished and all silicone scraped off. On my way to my friend's bodyshop to polish the lenses with a high speed buffer. Yes, I know what I'm doing, I used to work in a bodyshop for 12 years;)

Back from the shop with clean lenses. I used 1500, finished with 2000 and then buffed with 3M compunds and glazes. Time to assemble:)
|
Wow! That is a huge difference.
|
WOW! That black turned out NICE! I like it!
|
Damn you made your headlights look even cleaner than when it came out of the factory haha, goodwork man
