I’d say coils, that way you can ride stock height on the current wheels. Than get your new wheels and drop/adjust accordingly to soot the new rims/tires.

I was also thinking if i should just get the tanabe Lowering springs or save up for coils. Are coils really worth it compared to springs and the price difference?

I have Tanabes, they ride good but dont give you near the drop/stance you can get from coilovers

Before wheels, coils, lugs etc. I'd start with a good foundation first so addressing things like bushings, end links ball joints should be done prior. You'd enjoy your car more especially if it's a earlier model needing the refresh.

Bingo, we have a winner.. Choose wisely my son, and may the force be with you...

I have to agree with this statement. If all is good, then go with coils or Esplier springs.

Coilovers all the way, at least you ride stock height or hide some of the wheel wells. Then get a set of rims.
