Default Driving the 98 SC300 in snow

Hey so short story I don't have the funds for a winter
Car and am stuck driving my sc300 in the snow (minnesota)

Are there any suggestions as to what I should prepare and do to keep my car from rusting or just generally clean?

I was wondering if taking it to the car wash every week would keep it from rusting.

Cheers
Chris.

That would be a smart thing to do, but it might be useless, just because of where you live. The snow is terrible there. You might want to think about doing some undercoating besides what the factory does. Purchase a set of snow tires also wouldnt hurt you at all either, if not already.

In addition, look into some POR 15 which is great for rust prevention. I'm assuming you've already winterized your SC? I would also make sure you have a strong battery and look into the condition of your hoses. Last thing you'll need is your hoses freezing on you and then later bursting. Just some starting points...GL

I read an excellent thread by ArmyofOne covering all precautions necessary. It was in the general maintenance stickies. Check it out.

There is a whole bunch of stuff in the stickies regarding maintaining the vehicle against rust, winter, ...etc. I suggest giving this section a thorough visit.

I used to be a painter and we found POR 15 was not only the most expensive primer but the worst in protecting/preventing against rust. Maybe metal hand rails are different than cars...

+1 for something like line-x, or a different rubberized spray.
