Default $300 Dollar SC 400

My 14 year old son and I bought this stock non-running SC 400...a father/son project car for him. It had not run in 6 years due to a small engine fire near the PS and ALT. Anyway after taking the tank out and replacing the fuel pump, repairing the wiring harness associated the the MAF and rigging up a cold air intake of sorts (wires and intake and PS hoses were burned beyond use). She fired right up.All for $300 dollars!! We have cleaned and painted the calipers and removed the seats to clean the carpet. Now we are working other smaller issues....Recovering seats, repairing window regulators and switches, flushing trans etc. I have pictures but cannot get them to load for the thread, is there some trick to loading Pictures??

What a find, glad you got it running with minimum effort. It has been a great thing when a father and son can do a project together. So much more rewarding in the end. I always use photobucket to upload my photos, no problems whatsoever. Just copy and paste the URL in the link..

That's awesome! Nice to see an SC being restored. Keeping or selling?

Wow! Only 139k-that's nothing for a SC...here's additional inspiration. I have 275k on my SC right now! Still running like a champ, maintenance is key-You're not going to have any problems, especially since you're an Awesome car guy/dad! Several other members are running boost with even more miles then I have!

Future plans? You keeping it auto, or are you looking into converting it to manual?

Damn, that's one lucky kid! The car looks really clean, at any price, let alone $300! Good luck with the build/restoration! Can't wait to see more pictures and the car on the road!

Great project. You, sir, deserve father of the year award. Especially with having your son give a helping hand restoring the car will teach him its value. Big ups and good luck on your project

Those power steering pumps are notorious for failing and leaking. Glad that you were able to get it fixed! Haha this beats my record for a low price SC. I paid $500 for my SC300
