Other then the SC what cars can I take gauge cluster needles from?

I have a 93 sc300 and need a needle for my coolant temp and tach. Thanks to scviolence for the needle he gave me but i plan to go to a salvage lot and hopefully find some new needles... I'm too broke for Lextech right now. So, original question, what model Lexus cars had the same needles?

none...............

I think early es 300 needles will work but temp and gas needles are a bit longer

Kalogerus 11-18-12 10:58 AM

^ I doubt they'll last long. 93 GS needles fit perfectly on my 95 sc and lit and everything, however gave them a couple of days and they started going out, they even made the other perfectly intact needles start flickering.

He said 93, so NO.

I'm aware of that, I have both clusters (92-94 and 95-96). I was referring to salvaging needles from other models may not last very long and may cause other "working" needles to stop working. Best bet is to salvage needles from the same year group sc.

Keep checking ebay they pop up every now and then.

It's futile to replace your failed 20 year old needles with other 20 year old needles.

2 hours sifting though a huge salvage lot....

I do agree after learning the hard way, I went to the salvage yard they had a 92 SC300 and 95 SC400... all 8 needles didn't work, also a 94 ES... the tach and the speedo needles were toast and i figured out the gas and temp were too long... so now i have 14 needles that dont work or 12 i don't know about the ES' gas and temp...... hell maybe the 95 needles work but i guess they wont work on my model year! Awesome, oh and i think i damaged my tach because it used to move and now it doesn't, I guess I wasn't careful enough taking them off and on... I guess ill be giving Lextech a try when i get paid. Sure would be nice to finally have a complete fully working gauge cluster.
