Is it hard to steal our cars?
So I've been making my SC look sexy and am about to add my finishing touch of dropping it and some Enkeis. A nice car attracts theives. With the stock alarm with Killswitch, how hard is it to rob?
I mean I know if they want it they can just flatbed it or tow it, but I mean for a crappy car thief, can they get pass the stock killswitch since they dont have the key? Please enlighten me, thanks

I think if anyone who wants the car, will get it, regardless of what it takes to achieve their goal. I think someone who works or can cut keys is a plus. This is because the vin is stamped on every piece of glass or panel on the car. I think the factory alarm is sufficient enough for now, but I just dont park it or leave where someone can have easy access to it to begin with. JMO.

Haha just get it properly insured if someone wants it. Took me about an hr with minimal tools to bust the lock on my wheel bust the automatic locking pin and pull the plastic ignition rings tape it line up the contacts and dire away with a screwdriver and it was my first time. Haha my own car of course

From what I've seen in Florida some thieves use a flatbed with a giant spatula to pick up lowered cars. The stock alarm probably wouldn't even go off if that happened.
I'd recommend getting an aftermarket alarm with a pager, glass break sensor, and tilt sensor. That way if someone tries to steal your wheels or put your car on a lift, the alarm will go off and page you.

There are several things you can do. I will assist you with some ideas. Security has always been a big thing with me living in FLA, and knowing some tactics used by thieves.
Aftermarket alarm, with a long distance two-way pager, shock sensor, motion sensor, tilt sensor and glass break sensor: http://www.viper.com/P-5704V/Viper-5...e-Start-System
Lojack with early warning recovey system and backup battery. Once you have it installed, ask the installer where they put it. if they don't tell you look for it, and place it in a better spot than they do. A hood lock (personal favorite) that if cut disables the alarm. This is good, b/c there are thieves that will break your window while alarm is going off (not all thieves work alone), pop your hood and cut the power to your alarm. This makes it hard to open your hood, and its easy to install:

You can always do a kill switch.

Just a little food for thought. Thieves can get a key made for your car with the vin number. All they need to know is someone who works at a dealeship...how hard is that???
The tow truck issue is a problem, but with the Lojack early warning system (you get a call on your cell phone) and two way paging alarm with tilt sensor, you should be able to be notified quick enough and track your car.
