Our policy has been in place since about 2005 on offsite car sales ads, and enforced many of the years. It's becoming summer and everyone and their brother is selling their cars and buying *whatever*.
In just the last 4 days we have had 5 "Look at this car being sold" threads. If you intend to post such a thread either for buying advice or otherwise, attach the picture of it, and whatever description to help persons give you the buying advice you need, but NO OFFSITE LINKS
to craigslist, autotrader, ebay, whatever.
It is unfortunate that persons tend to abuse the privilege of putting their friends up to posting cars for them instead of the proper classifieds route, but we've stopped this for many years and with the summer onset it's becoming an issue we will enforce more at this time.
Threads in violation will be edited or deleted at random discretion.
Thanks for helping keep CL clean from spam.
Example of proper posting below for ANY offsite car sales ads:
"Hey look, or should I buy"
Car has xx,xx miles
costs $xx,xxx dollars
"more info on the vehicle, minus specific contact info"
