Need Help on Wheels and Tires Combo
I read the official thread about the wheels and tires guide but I still want some inputs from the experts. I am about to get some Varrstoen ES 1.1.2.
This is what I have: 1998 SC400 with Shine Kit Megan Coilovers I am thinking 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 10.5 rear. I am trying not to have any mods on the fenders. Please help me out with offset and tires size. Thanks |
If you don't want to roll your fenders, just make sure it's a high offset on those rears. For a 10.5, I wouldn't go any lower than +20. The 8.5"s will be fine even with a +15, which I think is the lowest Varrstoen offers.

-Tabaka As for the rear... 10.5 +20 will DEFINITELY need to be rolled at the least, especially since you are lowered. What tire widths are you planning to run? |
From personal experience, I had 18X8.5 +35 in the front before with a 235/35 tire.... and I was lowered maybe 2.25 inches in the front. The wheels would occasionally rub against the plastic panels in the inner wheel well during harder turns.
Now I have 19x10.5 in the rear +22 275/35 tire, I needed to roll and pull the rear fenders for it to work. |
the OP of the wheel and tire fitment guide has in his first post the setup of people with pictures and whether or not they have fender mods~ Its my understanding that with a 10" rim with +22 offset is the maximum you can run with only a fender roll and low tire stretch depending on how low you are. +30 and up shouldnt require fender rolls.

You should just shave/roll the fenders, it will make your life so much easier with trying to fit wheels. There are tons of people in Southern California who can do a good job.

for you to run a 10.5 in the rear with no rolling, the offset would have to be like +35 or 40 depending on tire size and how much you're lowered. i think the highest offset that company offers is +22ish or so. may even hafta do a slight pull... i'm on a 8.5 +25 in front, 225/40, and a 10 +25 in the rear on 245/40, lowered about 2.5 to 3 inches or so, and if i hadn't have rolled the fenders i'd be rubbing badly. with my fenders rolled, i don't rub at all. put your mind at ease and roll your fenders, and you'll have a lot more options with wheels. |
What do u guys think of
19x9.5 with +22 offset front with 245x35x19 19x10.5 with +22 offset front with 285x30x19 Mods fenders |
I like it!

19x9.5 with +22 offset front with 245x35x19 19x10.5 with +22 offset front with 285x30x19 Mods fenders 19x9.5 +24 & 19x10.5 +22 245-40-19 and 275-35-19 Bridgestone Potenza re50a So it's pretty darn close to the specs you posted. Even if you are "mildly" lowered by CL standards, you will have to pull the rears a good amount and shave/ roll both front and rear. |
