i have an automatic and i hate how it looks, i saw this (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...s-an-idea.html)

and i wanted to do it but i dnt want to spend $25 on a 5spd surround and boot when i can make one

my tools:
philips head
duck tape
scissors
hot glue gun
dremel

before pic:


i first took out the surround:


then i took out the conveyor belt slidy thing and that covering:


i wanted to redirect my "POW ECT NORM" button cause i use it alot, but i didnt want it on the surround, so i cut out a hole for it in the cup holder



fits nicely:



then i cut out the automatic surround:



and i duck taped in the crown royal bag, (also help from dad)(it was hard to fit cause the hole was so big, bigger than a normal 5spd boot):



hot glued in the "POW ECT NORM" button to the cup holder:



then i put it all together, the button in the cup holder was ****ing hard to install cause the wiring was too short, but i made it work

Personally, I like the "dildomatic", but even if I didn't, I'm not sure I would use a CR bag for a shift boot. Kudos for creativity, but I think I'll pass.

 

ghetto as fuuh, keep that stuff to the honda/240 side.

 

I supported the ghetto efforts of a Dr. Pepper can being used on our cars to block an EGR...


... but this has gone too far.

well honestly to everyone i dont care about your negative opinions, i do know that once i do go 5spd im gonna do a better one so it looks better and im doing the CR boot because i like the VIP look it gives off, sorry its not made to your specialtys, and plus i want my car to be different and not like every other sc out there, sorry for going original instead of usual

I guess i'll suggest this a second time, buy this and be done with it.

And honestly, what point does the ECT button actually have?

 

The OEM black floormats look good.

 

Maybe to firm up shifts and allow the automatic to hold gear longer when getting in and out of the throttle?


and yeah.... i can understand wanting a shift boot but why did you have to go and hack it up? Thats like my number one turn off when buying a car is seeing peoples ghetto rigged mods.

and sorry man... the crown royal for a shift boot is not anywhere near original. Tons of people running around with it. and as for vip? not trying to be mean but ehhhhhhh no. this is why VIP = 2012 rice

on another note it looks like the dildomatic is busting out of its purple foreskin haha

Not trying to be negative or anything but you might want to search around for automatic shifter boot/housing/trim DIY's on this forum for a cleaner look.

yes i know, and i didnt want to buy anything because i didnt want to spend the money, thats why i went the hack way
