I've been told the pulley for the hydraulic fan is in the way? Anyone have a belt size?

I have deleted my A.C., I recommend a Goodyear gatorback belt because you will have less area of the belt on your waterpump so youll need the best. Ill give you the part # tommorow, make sure you get all the freon out of the system before removing anything. Youll probably want to get it removed at a shop by a recycle machine. Its a good weight savings, and gives you a lot more room to work, espeacially oil filter change.

Why on earth would you do this? All it does is kill the resale value and almost no hp will be gained so I am confused as to why people do this?

 

Weight savings. If it's busted, fixing it will cost upwards of $700+. Makes the engine bay a lot cleaner and much simpler to work on (so much free space on the right side). I recommend getting the Driftmotion pulley kit for $130. Get it without AC and they'll provide you with the proper length belt and you'll get all new pulleys with it Check out my build thread for pics, although in the pictures, the AC compressor is still on lol.

 

Im making my car a light weight sportscar on a very limited budget. I have other vehichels with plenty of AC., and the afore mentioned reasons,3 post back.

 

My car is working well with a 4060640 if I was to swap belts 1 more time Id go with the next increment smaller which I beleive would be a 635. There are marks on the staionary part of the tensioner and the movable part, try to get the movable mark in the center of the 2 staionary

 

Please have the old ac system evacuated professionally instead of dumping the freon into the atmosphere.

 

I suggested this to him on post #4. Its not pretty when you open a pressurized system full of freon.
