Default Tired of this car.

I gotta say I am really starting to hate this Damn car, LOL, there is just so much to that I want to do to it that the list is starting to get insane. I first started researching motor parts and found myself in a pickle because apparently I can only use VVT-I specific parts on my motor and just for the intake manifold alone I would have to pay out the @** to get an after market one. I know that I want to do a manuel swap on this vehicle and I found a guy here in Japan that is selling a 1JZ (twin turbo he said) and 5 speed trans with everything with it for 800 and he said he had an extra 1JZ for sale also. I was thinking about buying all he had and just swapping my motor and trans at once to avoid this VVT-I drama. Im iffy on buying used items, and now Im depressed about the swap because I caught mention of a 6 spd swap on some threads? There is tons of info on this site but almost to much because I was planning on swapping my digital cluster for dials ( because I want to keep the luxury/racing equal, plus I just prefer dials) so while I was searching for a cluster swap I found a dial light upgrade page and notice a guy with a car computer (WTF is this? Cuz it looks KOOL as Sh!*) and gave up looking for a cluster swap after 9 threads. But this is just the beginning of my list and I starting to get scared of this money pit being that I will still have to have it converted to bring it back to the states and Im still trying to restore my Trans am, LOL.

I just thought I would post my problems and also ask to see if anyone may have a cluster swap DIY on hand or an opinion on my VVT-I situation, also does anyone know if its hard to install cruise control on a Sc that doesnt have it?

Lol nothing like a good rant.. start slow man it doesn't all have to happen right away. Most of these guys have had their cars for years. Just do everything slowly as your budget allows one at a time and don't bite off more than you can chew.

I second that. Depends on your budget and time and money to your hp goals. I was going for 500 but after the start I would like to make 600 plus now due to the size injectors and cams and standalone. Just take your time and do it right.

Sounds like you just want to much for the level of knowledge you have about the car at the moment. Like they said take your time and read a little more and it will all come together.

your sort of all over the place man.

Cluster swaps are completely pointless not to mention they can be problematic and a pain to do.

jumping into used engine swaps because you dont like the cost of parts for your vvt is not going to work out at all.

Why dont you make a new post and form some thought out questions so maybe some of us can help in some way.

As for the cluster, I want a digital one, I just couldnt find nothing on swapping it or the part itself. Any ideas on that?
