sounds like youre describing dead space in turning. my thoughts are steering rack bushings.

Sounds like your power steering is going out. And like what greens14 said, your bushings. Check the rack and pinion and the lower control arms

Nothing is wrong with power steering system have someone tighten your steering rack bushings if it doesn't fix it you need new ones

Sorry didn't read the squealing part for starters open your powersteering cap see if the level is low turn on the car and have someone turn left to right lock to lock and see if u have bubbles in the resevoir if so keep turning till it's gone and the squeal is gone if that does nothing check your high pressure hose underneath the car driverside
