Default I just wanna show off my baby

1993 SC300 bought with 97k miles. I've only had her a few months now. I brought a 26 year old paint job back to life by cutting/buffing and orbital DA waxing. I love this car!!!

Default New Owner of a 92 SC 300

Hi, brand new owner of a 92 SC 300. Love it so far. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. 140k miles. I want to make this a smooth every day driver. It has a few issues that will need to be addressed: driver's side seat warmer seems to be functioning even while the switch is off; the AC blower is not working (but I think the climate control module is working ok), the power antenna needs attention, the leather is torn on the driver's seat. Other than that it seems to be in decent shape for being almost 30 years old!

Default 95 sc400 Jap import 1uz , Hello Bay area and club Lexus!

Hello Everybody on the Club Lexus SC forum, I am a professional musician and Lexus fiend from the bay area, california, I've been lurking on here reading all the wealth of knowledge for over 2 years and decided to finally get involved. My Lexus journey started with a 2001 Es300 which is as reliable as death and taxes and is still serving me well at nearly 150k. After that I purchased a 95 sc400 which I found in palo alto for the lowly sum of 500$, headgasket blown and overheated but body and black interior was killer So I took a gamble and it payed off! So I had a JDM Import 1uz installed. Today she runs like a champ feels brand new, smooth as silk and babied and spoiled with only the best! but the engine swap was not all fun and games, ran into surging idle issues, took it to several mechanics who had no clue and were not clever enough to get out of their comfort zone to dig a bit deeper. So I eventually stumbled upon the Model Garage In berkeley,ca. Now their the only place I go. They figured out that when the car initially overheated it actually subtly warped the coolant resevoir which caused it to be unable to hold pressue causing the dreaded air bubbles in the the cooling system! after tracking down a decent specimen from ebay and replacing radiator hoses and bleeding the coolant, idle went down to an almost silent 600 or so rpm, no issues since! kickdown cable was also torn, causing the dreaded violent clunking into gear and noticeable bang on the 2-1 downshift. Replaced cable, and did two bleed and fills on the tranny and voila! shifts like a dream after almost 30 years on the original transmision. struts were blown as well, so I found some used low mileage struts off a 96 sc300 manual and now it rides like a dream on 4 month old perelli cintuaro stradas. i'm convinced the sc300 manual spring rate is a bit different than the sc400 rate, it feels a tad sportier but still comfy and i love the ride! things left to do,replace rear diff bushings, replace guibo flex disc, and get an undercarriage cover because it never came with one. in the meantime, I also found another sc400 at used car lot, for a steal , one owner and only 104,000 miles,I have the original green slip from the lexus dealer. red body thats super straight no dings no dents, however the clearcoat on certain areas is gone, interior torn up but thats alright.I have an interior guy,if your from the bay area pm and ill hook you up with him, he has a warehouse full of everything you need, hes parted out over 30 sc's since they came out. so the red car is my current project, runs great, just had t belt water pump, sparks etc and alternator, will be asking a question in seperate post about engine code for egr it has. looking forward to being a member here, and remember to pm if you need parts in the bay area, also stay tuned for pics, for now see my avatar.

Welcome everyone! CL is truly a wealth of knowledge for these cars. The forums might not be jumpin every day, however, there is a ton of information on everything from turbo kits to every day maintenance and repairs.

Great looking cars - glad to see more people posting up!

Default New Member...Old Guy :)

Clean as it can be

Stock and Wanting more Power

Needs wheels!
I have been looking at the forum for years for information and data, and now I have some spare time in my life and decided to join .
My car collection grew in 2017 with the addition of a 1999 SC300 in mint condition with 43K original miles on it. Bought from original owner back in 2017.
I have had this car sitting in my shop for about all that time -- drove it a few times as I have had so many other project cars, work, and family.

Now I find myself with lots of time and a shop full of tools, machines, bikes, and cars. The SC300 will get lots of goodies as I get to know it and will keep up with the new stuff for it.
Lucky for me my wife loves cars too! -- very lucky and blessed.

Thanks for the forum and information all these years!

Default New SC on the Block

Hi I'm Jordan. I have a green 98 sc300 currently stock as a rock (besides for wheels). I've had my sc for about two years now and recently decided to get serious about boosting it. When I get down to it I'm going to have a lot of questions when I get around to computer stuff.

Thumbs up Newbie ‘94 SC400

94 with later wheels

Current owner of a clean ‘94 SC400. Originally a Cali car it lived a few years in Hawaii before being shipped to Dallas (where I went to buy it). Someone liked it enough to ship a “used car” that far. Car is in great shape (172K miles), clean and mean. My first black car and not so sure about that here in Houston..
