Default Newbie to Lexus!

Hello everyone..

Just picked up a Lexus SC400 on the cheap. I have had my eyes on these since the day they came out. Finally got my hands on one, although it wasn't intentional. I bought her to flip, drove it once, and now I'm going to sell my Subaru and fix this thing up. What a sweet car. She's a little rough and has a few problems, but with this being car #3, i'm in no hurry to make it workable. Hopefully you all don't mind me leaning on you a little bit. I promise I will have good grammar, good manners, and will help YOU in any way that I can, as I have an extensive background in mechanical aspects, although they may or may not relate to this car. I'll put a super dirty pic of her in this thread. More to come as she gets built. I've built 15+ Subaru's.. She is currently running a little rough. Owner said something about capacitors in the ECU.. This is new to me, as I've always just replaced the ECU if there was an issue. Engine seems a little "ticky", but it runs pretty strong considering! Looking forward to a new horizon!

Default 1992 sc400

New to the forum due to picking up a '92 SC400 from an impound auction on a whim. Found this site from doing a search for some things that require attention to get the car driving again then will decide what I want to do with it. It isn't in good condition yet but I hope to get it there over time. I expect to find a lot of useful information here to get it driving again.

Thanks,

Karl

Default New to me, 1992 SC400

Just picked up a 1992 SC400 with 105,647 miles. Very clean and untouched. Couple minor things to do on it to get it where I want it. Have always been a Toyota guy. Had a LX450, still miss that beast, have a FJ100. There's no substitute for Lexus quality.

Looking forward to learning a lot more on these cars.

Hey guys just bought my first Lexus about two weeks ago, unreal how long I have been a member and never introduced myself. I wanted a nicely daily driver and stumbled across the Lexus SC, coming from an Audi S5 and loving the car already. I want to perform the 2JZ engine swap however not many if any shops in the Northern VA area perform the swap. Since winter is coming doing some early research on wheel spacers and wheels for when the spring does come back around. Also want to upgrade the suspension, brakes, and interior within the next year. However I have a Datsun 240Z taking precedence, since this is my new daily driver.

Hey guys new here from San Diego, CA. Not new to the car modding scene but new in the world of modding a Lexus. I just picked up a 92 Sc400 and I can't wait to start working on it. This will be my project car until it's finished and will serve as a daily driver with a VIPish Kind of style. Here a couple pictures of my Sc right now and a few of my 07 Scion tC.

Michael here! 1995 SC400 owner. Finally registered as a member! I have been using this site for almost a year now and all of you on here have helped me immensely. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your experiences, helping me quickly troubleshoot problems, and providing guidance on performance upgrades. I look for to making my own contributions to this forum, as well.

Thanks!

Default finally introducing myself!

Hello everyone, I have decided that i have finally had my Lexus long enough and gone through enough challenges with it to post as a new member! I have been on this forum for quite some time... IIRC i joined November of 2015 and have been gaining information regarding not only the lexus`s but the engines that we for some reason die to stuff in them

But anyways without further rambling, This is my 1993 Lexus SC300 with a single turbo 1JZ booty photo right before a big burnout!

Found this SC300 locally for $800 and bought it same day. Power steering pump is noisy as all hell, and it looks like PO filled the PS reservoir with PS fluid, not ATF.
Front LCA bushings are shot, so I have some Prothanes ordered from Amazon.

I intend to DD this car while I rebuild my Legacy GT, then switch and DD that while I overhaul this car.
Glad to have found at least one Lexus forum that is still active.

Exclamation Had to Park it for a MIN

Greetings Owners of the SC 300/400!!! I had to park my SC for awhile and it hurts that I did, but every damn thing was happening to it....one thing after another. Every time I fixed one thing, something else broke down and I got frustrated as hell and it was always basic stuff. These damn mechanics see your Lexus and want to charge you prices as if it's brand new and the parts for it cost as if my car just came out this year!!! Does anyone know where I can get parts for better prices than what these a__holes want to forever charge me? Help me my SC brothers and sisters!!!

Hello,

A buddy with four(!!) SC-400's just sold me a white 1995 model with 230 K miles. Seems to be in good shape. I'm looking forward to reading the forum and learning about my first luxury car.

Best,

Dave
