Default How much PS fluid do I need?

I picked up some Toyota ATF fluid from the Toyota dealer ( its about 2 minutes away from my house, nearest Lexus dealer is about 20 minutes away) I open the PS cap and notice there is no min/max levels. There is only a cold/hot indicator. How much fluid do I need to put in? For some dumb reason, I poured in about where the middle of the cold/hot indicator. Please let me know what the correct amount is?

Also, did the guys there give me the right fluid? I asked for the PS fluid and they said the ATF was the one that I would use. I am pretty much confused about this.

I wasn't asking what the hot/cold indicator stand for... Its pretty obvious what it stands for... I was asking what the proper level should be.

Your level should be between the two indicators HOT and COLD.

Those indicators mean your transmission will run HOT if you have too much fluid and COLD if you don't have enough.

EDIT
OOps!! I thought you were talking about the transmission.

I think if your engine is:
1. Hot: then the fuild level should be at HOT mark
2. Or Cold: then the reading should be at COLD mark

Hope this help
