Default Is my fuel pump going out??

Lately on 3 different occasions(all cold starts weather is getting colder too) my car wouldn't start? It would take 3-5+ tries with the ignition off/on. I can hear the fuel pump but,it's like a humming sound.Power everything is on it just won't crank or turn over for the first few tries??...After engine warms up I don't have any problems throughout the day...suggestions?I do have the single click I have read about.Maybe the contacts?Any suggestions on this?
Thanks

Check things. Check your fuses, check your fuel pump and relay for it. Seems like you NEED to change the contacts in the starter. Starter says it all, it starts your car, you can't expect your car to fix itself. Try to fix it if you read about it and it came up as a problem...

If the car wont turn or crank over, most likely its a starter issue.

starter contacts. you may have another couple of months before it goes.
I hope you have a sc300, it always hurts when telling people who own 400's

Yeah, that was my first guess I figures I'd tackle.I searched through 15 pages and only 2 posts had anything about the contacts on these when they had starting issues. And yes it is a 300...with some RAD rims,GNARLY suspensions,Cool window visors and a FURIOUS interior!!!..ok I just came back from prepping for a Thanksgiving dinner so tipped back a few

you can get the repair kit from toyota, costs like $10-15. its very straight forward once you pull the starter.

Yeah I ordered the contacts instead of the whole kit but,did order the right 2xcontacts.Thanks for the part numbers though.Does anyone know if you can take the solenoid cover off and replace the contacts without taking the whole starter out?I saw it somewhere that they have done it but,I think it was on 4x4crawler or something?

it would be very tricky unless you have a lift and are working from underneath.
the way you have to reach from on top to get at it is akward.

its really easy to remove it and will make your life 1000x better.
remember to clean the plunger, no need to replace it.

here is the DIY

Yes please do update, sounds like I may have to order the same parts. I'm having the exact same issue with my SC300. I replaced the terminals hoping that would fix it, but it didn't help.

Sorry about the family, but on a side note a 300 is too damn easy to work on. Iv'e had a few IS3's and a few SC4's and I'd rather rebuild the entire 2jz than swap a starter on the 400 so be thankful and just get it done.
