I looked at this battery thoroughly for my project and I found it saved a ton of space but outdoes not have enough cold cracking amps to start the v8 on a cold winter day. So I went ahead and got the Braille 21 lb battery instead.

My only concern is how long is it going to last? I had a braille in my S2000, it died a few months later. Of course it was also right next to my turbo, so I think that's part of it's death too lol

A battery like this would allow me to move my battery back to the front which I really want to do. I hate having it in the trunk. I want more space for my boom and such... LOL

I have had one in my evo for 5 years now with no issues and this is a turbo car that sees high heat under the hood heat but yea they can overheat like any other battery.

I looked into the pc680 and just not sure it would cut it since its lacking 200 cold cranking amps compared to a recommended battery. Think the next step up would do the trick just right? I think its a 960 cold cranking amp battery.

I have know guys using them on big block 500+ ci drag cars so if it will crank over one of those then I am sure it will crank what ever you have.

680 cca is pretty good for a batt of it's size

Try cranking at -20 degrees.

i might ever see -1f but even at that most people driving a high boost rwd car are garaging it during the winter....

i mean if your having issues with cranking over a sports car in the dead of winter you might look in to a spp2150.... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...r-SPP2150.html

(i think 1000+ cca should do the trick hahahahaha)

it doesn't.... if you use your car everyday, have a radar, a/c on, have an amp, with a 10inch sub, use your power windows, factory alarm active everytime you lock your car, it will drain quick, know a couple that had to replace alternators, continuously recharge (different platforms of course),,, these batteries can't with stand the everyday use of a normal car... we can say whatever, about the battery but put it like this, Lexus/toyota, don't spend millions on designing a car for fun, it requires a minimum voltage and amp count to maintain all electrical equipment delivering full power at ALL times, also so the alternator, starter won't fail.. (we are talking about the odyssey pc680 )

the odyssey pc680 isn't for motor vehicle use.. on there website it says for atv, snowmobiles, motorcycle..... 680amp for 5seconds that's not good,, and you CCA (cold cranking amp) is super LOW, @220amp wonder what are you going to crank?... these batteries don't meet standards.

using an odyssey battery isn't consider an upgrade its a downgrade,

do research, and go to odyssey's website... you just fitted a motorcycle battery on to you car

It's been almost a year and never had failed to start or gave any issue plus I added a 600 Watt amp so I can just say it works great for me as it starts my hi comp v-8 with no problem but although it has enough amps to start the car just fine it has little capacity so if you run the radio with the car not running then it may fail you but I love it!
