Hey everyone! This is my first thread so hopefully it's in the right place, but if it isn't please move it. I searched through threads relating to front bumper holes and never seemed to find anyone with my specific problem. I have four holes in the front bumper of my SC400 from a front-mounted gold Lexus vanity plate that was around half the size of a standard plate - I assume that the dealer just ignored the actual 2 mounting holes and drilled bigger ones. However, while most people have flat holes or "volcano" style holes, I actually have two large indentations in the front of my bumper from where the screws appear to have been overtightened. It's really unsightly and won't be fixed with a simple bumper plug, as the flat spots are wide. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to fix this? Heat gun, hair dryer, boiling water, anything? Thanks everyone!

I think the only way you are going to be able to fix that is bondo over it and try to blend it in as good possible and repaint

^ it's plastic, how would you fix that besides heating it up and pushing from behind?

You will have to use a heat gun to soften the nose at the holes, then using a shaped push block (wood) push the deformity out and hold it till it cools. Caution because it will be hot. Then use a plastic welder to fill in the holes then sand, paint, which of course means you'll refinish the whole nose. Or just do like Alisc3 said and put a license plate bracket back over it.

I have the same issue. As mentioned I just heated it up with the heat gun used a puller and held it until it cooled. Now I'm trying to fix my deformed stock lip.

Whenever I have a plastic bumper that gets pushed in, all you have to do is get a hair dryer, or heat gun and heat up the area. Hot enough to "mold" the plastic but NOT too hot as the paint will come right off.

Thats the hacked way, though. The right way is to put the license plate back on like Ali mentioned.

Thats one of the reasons my front license plate is still on.. its so scratched up and ruined under there from previous owner it looks 10x times better with the plate on. If I am sanding and painting anything.. it wont be that old bumper, it'll be an aftermarket bumper being prepped for paint.
