I acquired my dream car last Friday, a 1993 SC400. At this point the problem facing me is unilluminated Tach and speedo needles. Two questions; how do I get the cluster out and how do i get the needles to light up. Any hlep would appreciated.

Give Tanin Elextronix a message. Your cluster will need to be rebuilt. They do this.

Helpful tip.
Pull the steering wheel all the way forward and down, and then disconnect the battery so it cannot retract. This will give you more room to pull the cluster out. You'll want to have the battery disconnected anyways, otherwise you might get an airbag light on your cluster.

Ha, or you could be like me and: 1) have to drop the steering column because there's not enough slack in the wires to get to the connections in the rear even with the steering wheel down/out all the way, and 2) have the perpetual airbag light regardless.

I've pulled the cluster on a couple other SCs and they were a breeze compared to my PITA. I swear the factory shorted me a couple inches of wiring. Same thing after swapping dashes, so it's not like there was a snag somewhere.

Thanks for the Tanin Tip. I've watched the video, I believe it will be a piece of cake to remove the cluster. In my 76 years i've restored 4 MGA's but this SC400 is a much more sophisticated animal. I'm still trying to explain to my wife why I bought it. All I can come up with is "I just wanted it". thanks again.
