I got a 95 SC400, and the dash shows a tail light is out when it is not. After reading all the threads on here about swapping lights from different years, I am convinced someone swapped these before I got the car. I have no clue which ones are on my car. I hate these lights because at night, only the outer corners are light up and they just look ugly. Someone tell me which taillights are on my car!!

Those are 92-94 taillights. It is probably giving you the dash warning because the 92-94 tails use more bulbs than the 95-96 tails or the 97-00 tails.

 

My car is a 95, so if the 92-94 tails use more bulbs that wouldnt make my light come on would it? Can someone send me a link to photo of 95 taillights or upload a photo? I want to get the right tails on here but dont know what I am looking for, LOL

Dang thats a huge difference. I dont know why the idiot downgraded the lights. I found some, going to change them this weekend! Since they swapped the 95 for 92-96 will I need anything else besides the lights to change them back?

 

Shouldnt need anything else. Double check the harness while your there and make sure nothing was cut and all the sockets are there that correspond with the 95 tails.

 

It looks like your car has been wrecked in the rear and repaired. If it was a recent accident and fixed on the cheap the 92-94 tails are slightly cheaper than the 95-96 lights and significantly cheaper than the 97-00's.

 

^^^Agreed...now that I actually looked at the pictures, everything is kind of off on the rear.

 

Same here I see a few gaps around the corners of the taillights. IM having the same issue. Owner before me put a spoiler on and that strip light is out. Since its a 92 he put fogs in, I see the wire running by the door. I see corner lights in the headlight that is not on so not sure which 3 are causing it but every other light works fine and doesnt bother me much.
