I need advice in making convirtable out of my sc400
My frame guy said it looks pretty stong in the frame but how much do you add and where to make sure you dont fold it up. i want the doord operational, and i am not worried now about adding a rag top. preliminary ck's looks like camero 95 top might work. hope to contact someone who has done it.

Newport car conversions located in Cali. 
they are the best at what they do. Im sure there are other shops that can produce the same quality of work for less( 12 grand was the quote we got about 6 years ago)
Either way They are the best place to start.
They also make hard boots that look a lot cleaner than the soft covers.

funny...
A drop top coupe is respectable.... however,...yesterday here in Houston,... I saw some foool driving a custom convertible 87 or 88 Honda CRX with some 14" rims and was just lookin' a *****ty mess.
that was funny as hell.... I'm thinkin' he could'a bought an 1990 ES250 or somethin' with the money he spent choppin' tha top.

That is beautiful.....I may have to buy a 2nd sc just to do that with hehe.....for some reason that look so much better then a benz to me ..... I just cant get into Benz's and very few beimers do it for me either, lexus's are just beatiful. If you could do a hard top convertible on a ES....it would remind me of a bentley sort of .... that'd be a project I'd like to do if I had the money
