Default question about 1jz vvti into pre vvti sc300

i ordered the motor already, 1jz vvti with rear sump oil pan, and its going into my 95 sc300 5 speed. question is about the throttle body, it has the etcs throttle body, do that affect anything? do i need to do something with the wire harness or what? and also can i use an auto 1jz vvti ecu? also does my w58 trans bolt up to the 1jz or do i have to replace the bell housing? and what clutch would i have to use? i know lots of questions, and dont have time to search

Yes your w58 will bolt up to the 1jz vvti.

You can run the auto ecu with a manual transmission. But I do believe the ecu will throw a code (check engine light). If I remember correctly there is some way around this small issue. I'm sure someone will chime in to point you in the right direction as far as the auto ecu issue.

The etcs throttle body is drive by wire but is still cable operated. The cable only controls 30% of throttle if memory serves correctly. The ecu does the rest via wire.

You are probably best off sending the harness out to be reworked as it will need to be extended and spliced/soldered to your stock harness. All the info is here the SEARCH button is your friend.

Get a Supra throttle cable, ~$50 or get a camry 4 cyl throttle cable.

Bell housing should be fine since you are sticking with a JZ motor.

You can use the Auto ECU, but it's not really recommended.

There are a few people on here who have mated a W58 to a 1JZ. It doesn't take power well, but it's a viable option for those who cannot source an R154 swap.

I have had the same w58 on 2 different 1j motors. I think it's lived through about 150,000 wo boost and 100,000 w and I have no issues. The most I've ever boosted it was 1.5 bar

you can tell in the picture that the body connectors are from a soarer... youll just have to extend the harness.

W58 will bolt to the 1jz

Wow after seeing that pic. I don't think putting more than 300hp thru a w58 is a good idea
