How much should it cost to refill a ac system? I was being lazy and had my mechanic do it when he replaced my starter.

I read that 93 and lower needed r12 coolant not available in stores. And a substitute wasn't good. Either that or I had to convert my system to take the newer type coolant.


Well I ended up getting charged $80 for the ac charge. needed 2 and a half pounds. Did I get ripped?
