I did not remove any spot welds near any glass.
if you're comfortable with FB then it's an easy lay up for you to do it. your way is much more accurate. my way is "close" but it's faster.

ahhh perfect.

after i posted i noticed that you cut the part where the trunk seal sat...no leaks right? more seam sealer?

I just did mine. Unfortunately, I had a buckle so removal of the whole panel was necessary. I had to work on the whole left side

^^^^ That's no joke, looking good as long as your suspension and frame is straight its definitely worth saving. If anybody else wants to add their pics of their body work to this thread feel free to do so.

My quarter panel isn't messed up but the panel that holds the taillights is. This happened to the previous owner. Now my trunk gap is not even close to being tight. Can I just replace the whole back portion?

I'm still looking everyday on ebay or anything for someone that can hack me up a replacement panel for this :\
if anyone can help finding someone that can ship me a replacement quarter panel I'd be grateful.
and I wonder if it's one-piece part that you can grab from the dealers? or is just one big chunk..
