I don't understand the appeal of t56 over a toyota trans

 

The appeal that it was supposedly cheaper than a V160 and stronger than a R154 but with the adapter kit above the cost is well into V160 price range.

what are v160s running these days?

 

^^3K give or take avg for used from what I've seen. 5K plus for a new one.

 

I thought new v160s recently spiked up to like $10k?

 

4k for a t56 kit that doesn't even include a t56?!?!?!?

Used t56's can be found for under 1k used but paying 5k for a trans good for MAYBE 650hp is not a good deal at all..

I wish someone would piece together a more price effective kit. Someone was selling the bellhousing adapter for less than 300 a while ago. Those other bits can't add up to THAT much more even with a twin plate clutch.

 

That was supposedly a mistake they are back to normal now.

 

Apparently some people did not get that memo

 

actually now that I think about it, that kit costs more than my ls1/t56 did with shipping...if you want a t56, order it with an ls1 and do the swap...otherwise, just stick with the v160.

a T56 is not nearly as sweet as a getrag v160/161...

not even close.
