Default Anyone have a viper 5902 alarm?

Hey guys!

I'm planning to buy this alarm....

http://cgi.ebay.com/VIPER-5902V-2-wa...item43a78835ff

I just wanted to see if any of the sc300/400 guys have this installed in their vehicles and if it's worth it.

It seems like this alarm has a lot of potential and I just want to know if I will be able to utilize all of the options.

Thanks!

I drive a 97 sc300.

I have the Viper 5901(Which is the same except for the color display) and it works great on my 93 SC300. I have it setup to for remote start and it opens my trunk using the aux button. There is a ton of potential if you get the various add-ons such as the tilt sensor and the iPhone Smart Start app.

It's definitely worth it. My mom was so impressed with my alarm on the SC that she went and bought a 5901 too. The 5902 will be even better because of the color display on the remote.

I had the 5901 on my last Sc and I installed the 5902 on my current Sc. Great alarm and have the trunk pop n autostart set up as well. This alarm has long range!! I would recommend it to anyone in the market for an alarm. Protect your investment as much as possible.

I have the 5901 as well with remote start, trunk open, tilt sensor, glass sensor, and battery backup. Its a great alarm system. I think the color feature for the 5902 is a waste of money.. how often do you really stare at your alarm remote.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Another question is with the add ons. Does it come with the kit? Or does the installer provide that stuff?

Remote start and trunk pop are built in, but you will need an immobilizer bypass if your key has a chip. All the other accessories - window automation, tilt sensor, glass sensor, battery backup, etc - are all separate. I got everything from amazon.

I was on Viper's website yesterday looking at some accessories and I noticed that both Amazon.com and Sonic Electronix are no longer authorized dealers. Your warranty will be voided if you buy from them according to Viper.

I got mine from Sonic about six months ago and I'm sure they were an authorized dealer back then. I'm not sure what happened.
