I replaced my LCD but I lost my illumination in the process, what went wrong? What is the power lead in the harness for the backlight so I can trace out? is it ACC power source? OK, traced back illumination power to 2 pins (either side of lamp base) Its the 3 pin harness, pins 2 and 4. I found a bad lamp in the middle and will be replacing it as well as resoldering the 3 pin harness that I broke off trying to remove the harness......;-( Remember that the lamps are tube style that show continuity if good, unlike an LED that will show continuity in one direction only. The 2 pins are the ones flanking the empty slot in 4 pin harness, if your looking at the previous picture of the 2 socket (white and brown) its pins 1 and 3 from the left.

thanks for this write-up diy. I have 1 bulb out in my black car and the hazard bulb is out too. I'll be doing this next week!
