Updated info: #24 backlight

Alright guys I have some updated information on the #24 backlight on the speedometer clusters. In 2003 I ran a number of tests on several #24 bulbs (eiko, sylvania, collins, GE, etc). If you've been paying attention the last 8 years you know the Sylvania outperformed the rest in both brightness, quality, and fittment into the socket. I still recommend the Sylvania and have no reason not to, but there is a new bulb out in 2011 and it's worth looking at.

Not everyone uses stock backlight, but for those who do you are going to want the best looking you can get for your Lexus. These new Warner bulbs have a longer filament and thicker stock to provide more heat endurance for longer while putting out up to 12% more light *IF* your charging system is up to snuff. Most stock SC's alternators and regulators have some age and don't exactly pound out 14.5 at the clamps (not to mention grounds, etc).

So, just updating you guys and trying to make sure you have the best as always for our Lexus and always trying to stay on top of it. :) You can source these bulbs at Oreilly's Auto Parts.

I'll have to look into getting some of these.

Probably a silly question but are these the same color as the stock bulbs? I made the terrible decision to plug in LEDs and I cannot stand the hotspots.

I'm not seeing those on their website. I've got a Wagner but no Warner

^I looked and you'll be trying them on the retail package instead of the industrial supply non retail bulk side so they'll be Marketed under wagner.

#24 bulb life?

Bringing this thread back to life. I need to know how long these Bulbs last? I was researching Sylvania #24 and they are rated for 1500 hours which may last 1-2 yrs.. Lexus Bulbs usually last 10 yrs.
Do the Wagner Bulbs last for than 3 years?
Thanks for any response.
