Unhappy rusty Lex

How many of you guys have seen a rusty SC? Yesterday i was walking to my car from class and in the faculty lot I see a red 400. I go check it out and theres rust over the drivers side back wheel well. Thats a first for me. I realize i live in Michigan, but it was a first. Theres only old people around here with them, never seen any one i their early 20s.

Another question were mud flaps stock? this car had them. Really nasty looking IMO. Also anyone here with a 92-94 paint their front lip the body color? I had my hood and front bumper done and they also painted the lip, looks clean.

Default Dont think so...

I dont think I've ever seen a rusty SC... unless it was damaged... and it only rusted at that point where the sheet metal showed (not as much rust grew up as expected). All SC's went thru rustproofing back in the day as under the paint there is a white plasticy paint, then your normal coloured paint and then the clearcoat. all the edges are bent in or covered (notice the wheel wells and the plastic thing on the edge? that protects the edge of the wheel well from forming rust). You'd have to be driving on super salty roads to induce rust. I hear that if you strip all the paint for a re-spray it may **** up the original rustproofing. Or maybe he removed the plastic trim around the wheel well.

I've never seen one either. And that's surprising down here in Florida, saltwater and humidity can be heck on the paint!

Actually mine had a real little little bit of surface rust on rear wheel well when I bought car-not even noticeable unless you knew about it, I had it removed right away obviously...but then again Im in Chicago area so winters and salt are terrible on most cars that arent garaged all the time and rinsed right away (prev. owner usually garaged his LS400)...not much you can really do. Besides that not a hint of rust anywhere and paint is great...even the door jams and under the doors look brand new.
