Default $70 down the tube..

Well I went to get my AC charged today after I changed my expansion valve and receiver. Got a call that I have a major leak on the suction/discharge block on top of the compressor. So I had to pay for the labor and some dye. Sucks cause its getting hot and I want to drive my car.

Went to try and pull this block off, secured with 4 allen head screws and it is beyond tight. Broke one of my wrenches. Nothing can be easy on this car...

Are you talking about where it goes into the compressor? We had to use a 1/2 Inch Ratchet and an allen piece to break mine lose on both compressors.

Yep, right on top where your ac lines connect to the compressor. That piece comes off and there is a gasket under there.

So you were able to use a 1/2" drive with the proper sized allen in a socket. Is that what your talking about.

I took an allen wrench and snapped off the curved portion than stuck it in a 6mm socket or something. With a long extension. THe allen wrench shattered. Im gonna pick up a set of the sockets that have allen heads on em.

Bonus note. I am trying to do this with the compressor still on the vehicle. MIght have to remove it if I cant get it off. Just tried again and ended up breaking another allen wrench. Gonna have to wait for the right tools.
