What kind of mileage do you get?
#2
Hmm, sorry i can't tell you the difference in weight (I think it's a couple hundred lbs though). I drive about 65% highway and 35% city, in the summer it's usually 80% city. Currently,
Highway: 21 mpg
City: 19 mpg
+- 1 mpg
I put in 91 octane (sometimes 93.5, 1 gas station has this here, and only 1.45$ a gal! cheaper than the 91 at other gas stations)
91 is considered the highest in colorado (altitude)
I drive a '95 SC400

Thanks for the input guys!
VQT - I am still trying to decide which car to get. I currently have an Integra. As soon as I sell it, I will get one of the SC cars. I'm leaning toward the SC400 but the difference in mileage might make me reconsider and get an SC300.

Gas mileage between SC300/400
BlackTegSE,
According to the use car buying guide that I have; the mpg for SC300 are 18-23 and SC400 are 18-22 city and highway respectively.
Since I don't want to do any mod. to my car, I go with the 400. A lot of people here said if you want to mod. your SC then buy a SC300, 5 speed. You can do a lot to it; It is a Supra platform (hint hint). You can't do much to the 400.
SC300tt can tell you more on mod.

I MADE A TRIP FROM CHICAGO TO MEMPHIS, TN LAST WEEKEND IN MY 92' SC...
I POSTED ON ONE FILL-UP 411 MILES ON 17.0 GALLONS... THE CAR HAS A 20.5 TANK...
I TRAVELED AT A CRUISE SET SPEED OF 75 MPH NON STOP INTERSTATE MILES...
I GOT 24.2 MPG... I USED 91 OCTANE FUEL...
I'VE POSTED 27.5 MPG ON MS HWYS TRAVELING 60-65 MPH USING 93 OCTANE FUEL...
I HOPE THIS HELP IN YOUR DECISION MAKING.... I BELIEVE THE SC4 IS THE FAR BETTER CHOICE, BASED ON YOUR NEEDS... EITHER WAY YOU CAN'T GO WRONG...

Gas mileage
My SC400 is used almost entirely for city driving and I do have a lead foot. I drive pretty aggressively (thank God for a Valentine One). I get right at 15 mpg. This is based on logging mileage every time I fill up and calculating the mileage - averaging the mileage using the same driving habits and same usage over time yields a very accurate mileage figure. So I can say, with accuracy, that my SC, driving aggressively, practically 100% city will get 15 mpg. Best highway was 24. The mileage is a price I'll gladly pay for my SC.

I usually get close to 16-18mpg in mixed driving around town... down to 14mpg with hard city/racing... Best was around 24mpg pure highway with the 02 sensor hooked up or 22mpg with it disconnected.
After replacing the spark plugs, I've found that the 02 sensor doesn't really need to be there, at least for me... The plugs were a beautiful light brown and all were the same shade! Yippie!
Those extra injectors get quite a workout...
Before I started modifying the car, my best was 27mpg pure highway, and the wider performance tires have to be sucking a mile or two per gallon, so I'd say the turbo isn't really hurting my highway mileage too much.
BTW...Our GS400 gets 23mpg highway.
