Default 92 sc400 will not start

hello, i have a 92 sc400, and it start acting like it wasnt firing then when i was on the road it just started acting like it was in nutral. then just died, now it will crank but it wont start.

I have a
new battery
new plugs
new wires
new cap and rotors
new igniters
new ignition coils
cleaned the crank position sensor ( it was fine)
starter is working
fuel pump is working
even bypassed fuel pump (still didnt start)
could it be my ecu? or no compression?
was wondering if theres anything else to try?

Default Heartbroken

My car just died. Broke my heart. The mechanic says that my car needs a brain. $1200. Is he crazy? I need a second opinion or a for sale sign. I am torn just before the summer. Any techies out there that can shed some light on my 16 year old.

MUCH2PHAAT: There have been a few people here who have replaced all of the capacitors on their ecu, it runs between $100 and $350 depending on where you get it done. Much better than $1200, you can also try a used ecu but it could have the same problem.

sc400w58: With the fuel pump ecu jumped do you have fuel pressure ? Its possible the fuel pump could be bad.

Default Plug and Play

Is ecu a plug and play part? I have searched ebay and found them to be affordable and some with warranty. I just might take my chance and replace if mechanic can assure fuel pump ecu is not bad.

Is reprograming necessary? Fuel pump was replaced in Nov. 2010.
