Default Wires under the center console cup holder - See picture

I lifted the center console cup holder and found two plugs not connected to anything. Anyone know what this is for? I remember threads mentioning optional car phones. Is the wiring already there, even if the phone option is not purchased?

I am wondering if this can be used to power a homelink remote.

Nope, My auto has them sitting there not connected. I'm almost positive it's for a car phone, they pre-wire these pretty much all the same because it's cheaper to do so.

have you looked to see if they are just taped up there, or do they extend from the rear of the car or from under the shifter area?

check to see if the pinout matches any that you see here for an Auto with TRAC and the PWR/Norm ect button.

One is total of 10 pins possible 6 in one row 4 in another
another should be 11 pins possible 4 in one row 7 in another

atleast that what it looks like you have laying around ^^
theres a few other ones that i have no idea what they are for but are all plugged in otherwise to something.. just happen to circle them for reference.

Cheez,

Which one is for the phone?

You happen to get the power output for this? I would like to MaGyver a homelink control to that power supply and mount it on the inside of the center arm rest.

Soarer93,

Now you open this up to even more discussion.

I bought the homelink controls that fit inside the visor. I would like to connect it to the wires found underneath the center console. So far I have tested it by touching the wires to the positive/negative pins. I have power and I am able to control the garage door and the gate.

Now I need to know where I can find the female socket that the wire underneath the center console plugs in to.

Thank you for the link. Their web page lists a lot of connectors for the engine area, but did not display what i am looking for. I sent them e-mail to ask if they have the female connector that I am looking for.

self service salvage yard that has an sc that used to have the phone in it. the wiring is likely still there. or you could just unplug the battery and hack the connector of and wire in your own harness probably better that way.

If you do not want to cut, you should be able to use a small flathead to release the pins from that connectors and use small insulated female spade connectors to slip on and get your power without cutting.
