Default Bad ECU?

95 lexus sc300. The part numbers on the ECU line up to be a 95 ECU.

I tried plugging in both odb1 scanners I had today which I've never had a problem with them. Both get nothing from the car. I can jump the pins and get the OD light to blink but my CEL is burnt out.

Do you have to jump a specific set of pins to use the reader?

Alright, so I got another Bulb in the cluster in record time...surprise surprise there wasn't even a CEL bulb in the socket (obviously the previous owner thought it was too bright and it's harder to sell).

Now I see why, ODB1 71 - EGR System Malfunction.

I looked around and all the vacuum hoses looked good. I don't even know where to begin with this spider web of CRAP.

So, my question is:

1) If I delete the EGR with the valves, I saw on drift motion about some cooling plate. I'd much rather just delete the whole thing.

Will I lose gas mileage, any random misfires, etc? I obviously DONT care about saving the world with my little go kart so EGR is last.

2) If I do keep the EGR, where is the MOST COMMON spot of failure. I keep saying Vacuum Control Valve issues, which one (picture?).

THANK YOU!

Here's to hoping someone posts something useful in one of these threads instead of another gay "say breh what coil overs should I dream about getting with no intention of ever buying them when there are 100 different threads on the exact same issue"

Is it known to be good? If I could just delete this crap I would be happy but I don't want to pop a head gasket or have any driving issues
