Anyone ever had this happen? While putting my snow tires on on my 97 sc300 today I noticed my spring on the passenger rear is hitting the strut body. I have always had a bit of a thump from that corner of the car too ever since I installed this suspension setup when going over bumps and pot holes. I retorqued all the chassis bolts per the manual and everything seems to be OK with the suspension. I have done struts and springs a bunch of times on my other cars and never had a problem.

I've only seen that happen with cut springs, I would check to make sure the spring is seated in the perch properly and not able to be spun/turned, from there you could put a jack under the LCA and jack it up to compress the assembly and see what could be causing it granted compression and decompression in a normal driving situation are much faster then what could be attained with a jack

The spring wont rotate with a wheel off and that corner of the car in the air. That's a good idea to see what is looks like with a wheel off with the suspension compressed. I'll try that next. I also read on some other car forums that some of the AGX struts were not threaded far enough down on the shaft, not allowing everything to pull together properly. I'll check those two things next.

hmm I'm gonna have to take a 2nd look at mine in the morning, I've had a slight clunking sound from my pass rear that I wrote off as something bouncing around down by the drain tubes after inspecting my suspension and not finding anything
