Default Viper alarm install

Hi,
I am wondering if stock alarm unit can be taken out entirely and put aftermarket brain at the same location? If I do that, Isnt it easier? Or this is not possible at all- I have alarm unit from my friend and I want to install it myself-
Of course I will install antennas, shock sensor and etc-
Thanks in advance

I just had a Viper 5901 installed on my SC. I think the stock alarm is disabbled on mine. Every shop I talked to said that it was difficult to remove the factory alarm. My friend's shop said they could ground it out to disable it.

Which model did you get?

I am wondering if I disconnect my factory alarm, wouldnt all the wires needed for aftermarket alarm be there for you to splice and connect?
It gets rid of hassle of looking for wires in different places..
I am wondering if this idea would work or am I just plain wrong?
Thanks

Its a different principal entirely. You dont need to try to piggyback it.
