I would say that motor might be seized from moisture especially in area where it snows on a yearly basis.

 

Some serious TLC needed for this thing to run again...I bet him and his friends drink outside on weekends and **** on it when hammered.

$350 for good head and good block already put together. Not siezed, not crappy looking, not rusted, in good condition. Needs turbos, Water pump, PS pump, and AC...which are all trash on that rusty motor...so you already need to buy new ones. I would buy that head and block over that rusted crap any day. Plus I have seen MANY 1jz's around $350...with accessories, no ECU, no harness, and no trans...just arent for sale at the moment.

 

i agree with carfreak.

It is not wise to mess with that motor unles you are able to rebuild and work on the engine yourself.

That think is going to need who knows what to get running and even the things that dont need to be replaced right away will probably break down after it runs for a while.

Smart thing to do is offer him $150 for parts or a long term project, if your able to take it on yourself.

It really is going to be more trouble than its worth.
