Just finished installing a gated shifter into my '97 SC400. I must say, it really updates the interior. (Excuse the mess).

Sprayed starting fluid in the 94's throttle body, the engine ran for the 1st time in 10 years.
Was parked and ignored since 2007. 79k miles.
Also bought a set of 16" 96 wheels for $100.00 )

Fitted some AC side skirts. Going to buy front and rear bumpers soon and hopefully some new wheels. Almost copped some Cosmis today but the seller lied when I tried to peel off the plastidip. There were some curb rashes and it was originally black which he said was bronze which was what I wanted for the car . Good thing I checked first before leaving.

Gotta say i love those 370z wheels, Would you be willing to send me a pm on the tire specs that youre running, if you have any rubbing issues and if you had to modify the fenders to get them to fit?

The z wheels are 18x9 +15 squared had to source another rear set because stock fronts are 18x8. Tires are 255/40 rear and front 225/40. Those tire specs are no good I'm an idiot, I shouldve gone 245/35/18 all around. I did have to roll my fenders but that was about it. SC's could fit 18x9 no problem.

Nice. Im gonna be looking into getting those wheels now because i love the way that looks . Also doing the math its actually 245/40/18 that brings the total diameter of the wheel closest to stock. Stock config is 654mm. This brings it to 653mm. Thanks again for the info!

Replaced my radiator and discovered my rack and pinion is leaking...

My car is old enough to drink though!

I'm surprised you had to re-shim. Mine dropped right in. Measured the valve clearances before and after, and they barely changed

I did a quick detail in my cold and not-very-well-lit garage lol.

It's going to be at Tuner Galleria at world of wheels on Saturday here in Chicago

Should have done more research on the matter the fob is too fat to fit into the depressed ignition and trunk location. The doors work thou, guess I got that going for me

The flip key is designed for all the other lexus models like the 2GS and RX that use a shorter key blade. The design of the dash and trunk light makes the SC the only car that uses a longer key blade.

If you remove the trim ring around the keyhole in the dash, then you can start the car (from what I can remember). For the trunk, just use the keyless entry.
